FREE - GENERAL ADMISSION

Join the Lincoln Library Alliance for a FREE showing of the award-winning documentary “The Librarians” followed by a community conversation.

In this film by Kim A. Snyder, librarians become first responders in the fight for democracy and First Amendment rights. They understand that controlling ideas means controlling communities. In Texas, the Krause List targets 850 books on race and LGBTQ stories, triggering book bans across the U.S. As tensions escalate, librarians link heated school and library board meetings nationwide to White Christian Nationalism fueling censorship. Despite harassment, threats, and laws criminalizing their work, their rallying cry for the freedom to read is a chilling cautionary tale.
